About Us
Hedwig Cattery has been in
operation since 1989, showing & breeding cats. Our cattery has managed national &
regional winners each year from 1994-2000. (At which time I stopped showing the cats
in the cattery. However, persons who purchased cats have continued to show them.
I spend a lot of time helping the new owners understand
the cat/kitten and their needs. This not only allows the cat to be handled correctly, but
really lowers the stress level for the cat. Which in the end, means less potential for
illness. I also like to keep in touch with the owners as long as they wish. Many customers
like to get in touch if something is going on with the cat and they need advice. I tell
them if it's something to worry about and needs a vet or if there is something they can do
to aid the animal.
Our cats are well socialized. All of the cats have grown
up with Max, my Doberman. I also have a pond with Koi fish, which some are at least a foot
long now. So I believe we qualify as "animal lovers". I designed and
built my cattery - all kennels, furniture and bedding were my design, built with the help
of my husband. The cattery was designed to enable easy cleaning and allow the animals to
enjoy a home-like atmosphere. We designed the grooming area in the cattery to keep the
cats away from the electrical wires and also to keep the hair from floating freely in the
cattery. In addition we had a ventilation and filtration system installed to
maintain good airflow in the cattery. To view pictures of the cattery, please click here. I am happy to answer any questions you might have
about our cattery, our cats, our policies - or anything else!
